About

Cuban-born artist Pedro Hernandez has explored various mediums throughout his creative journey. In 2023, he ventured into oil painting, focusing on the techniques of the old masters. Employing the limited Apelles palette—yellow, red, black, and white—Pedro immersed himself in the world of classical art, drawing inspiration from iconic figures like Rembrandt, Titian, Caravaggio, El Greco, Goya, and contemporary Norwegian master Odd Nerdrum.
Through this disciplined study, Pedro has developed a distinctive style, creating artworks that reflect the twelve universal human archetypes. His goal is for viewers from all walks of life to feel a personal connection to these timeless representations. The twelve archetypes embodied in his work are the Innocent, Everyman, Hero, Outlaw, Explorer, Creator, Ruler, Magician, Lover, Caregiver, Jester, and Sage.
